As the
profession of massage therapy continues to gain respect and grow as a
profession, one of the greatest obstacles continues to be the confusion between
sexual touch and other therapeutic healing forms of human touch. Massage therapists are well aware of the
extraordinary close connection between touch, intimacy and sexuality. The massage therapy session may however,
occasionally evoke sexual feelings for the client, therapist or both.
We owe it to
ourselves, our clients and our profession to deeply explore and focus on a
topic of this importance and magnitude for it is in this knowledge,
understanding and appropriate use that will continuingly make massage therapy a
deep transformational force in our society.
This Workshop
will explore and distinguish the role of massage therapists as it concerns
sexuality issues in massage by understanding and building clear boundaries
between ones personal and sexual needs as well as the understanding of these
issues for our clients.
