General Information
The school clinic, located on the 4th floor of our building, is an integral part of the student learning
experience. It is the place where our students practice their massage and bodywork, client interaction,
and professional skills on the general public under the supervision of a skilled instructor.
It is also a place of relaxation and healing; a place in which our students, graduates, and
instructors can be of service to the community. It is a place in which clients can optimize
health, experience pain relief, and seek assistance with health issues.
Sessions take place in our privately draped treatment rooms in an environment of comfort and
healing. There are two levels of service: Student Clinic and
Professional Clinic

Clinic Policy
Appointments
- Appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling our clinic, at 312-654-0900 (toll-free 888-461-0114). To minimize disturbance to our learning environment, we cannot accommodate walk-ins.
- We must have a valid credit card on file to book an appointment. The credit card number will be kept confidential and will only be used in conjunction with our cancellation policy.
- All treatment sessions must start and end on time. Please arrive five to ten minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete the necessary paperwork and prepare for the session. If you are going to be late, please call so that we hold your time slot. We cannot extend sessions beyond the scheduled end time for late arrivals.
- Student clinic treatments are fifty-five minutes long. Professional clinic appointments are sixty minutes or ninety minutes long, as requested and scheduled in advance. No partial or extended treatments are available.
- Out of fairness to our students, we cannot honor requests for male or female, specific therapists, or specific types of bodywork in our student clinic. Students will, at a minimum, be able to provide a relaxation massage; depending on their level of training at the time of the appointment, they may also have the skills to perform condition-specific work but we cannot guarantee that as appointments are randomly assigned to students at the beginning of their shift. If you have requests for a specific therapist, gender, conditions to be addressed, or specific bodywork modality, we recommend our professional clinic.
Right to refuse service
- We reserve the right to refuse appointments or terminate treatment sessions for the following reasons: conditions or pathology are present for which massage is contraindicated, poor hygiene, improper or lewd conduct, sexualizing the session, or for any other reasons that compromise the integrity and safety of the school, the clinic, our clients, and our students.
- Our students are not allowed to work with any client who is either pregnant or has consumed any alcohol or is under the influence of drugs.
Cancellation Policy
- If you must cancel your appointment, we kindly ask that you give us a 6-hour advance cancellation notice. If the 6-hour notice is not observed or if you miss your appointment, you will be responsible for the price of your scheduled session.
Payment
- All sessions must be paid for at the time of check-in. Valid forms of payment are: cash, personal checks, credit cards, and New School for Massage gift certificates. Please present payment at the time of check-in.
Gift Certificates
- Gift certificates are available in any value increment and can be used in our clinic or retail store.
Student Clinic Discounts
- If you visit our clinic again within 30 calendar days, a $5 discount will be applied to your next session. This discount is not transferable and cannot be used with other promotions or discount programs.
