Our faculty consists of some of the best and most talented massage and bodywork professionals who are committed to sharing their academic and professional expertise with our students.

To offer a truly well-rounded, comprehensive diploma program, we made certain that our faculty brings to the classroom a wide range of knowledge, including eastern and western modalities, herbalism, and spa and clinical massage experience.

Our instructors have university degrees and multiple certifications from local and nationwide schools; five Chicago-area massage schools are represented within our faculty.

The following instructors meet the criteria set forth by the Illinois State Board of Education to teach our program:

Core Faculty

Emmanuel Bistas, Founder and Director
Raised in an environment that values the mystical and accepts healing as an innate faculty of life, Mr. Bistas started exploring yoga and eastern meditation systems at the age of 13, in his native Greece. He continued by studying Tai Chi, shiatsu, and massage therapy in New York City in 1984 and 1985, while at the same time pursuing a college education and, later, successful careers in the corporate world and business. Mr. Bistas is a licensed massage therapist, and has a B.S. in Information & Decision Sciences from University of Illinois-Chicago and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from DePaul University. He brings his rich experience in entrepreneurship, business, science, and massage therapy to the classroom where he teaches self mastery and business development.

Dr. Kelli Easterly, Education Director-Human Sciences
Dr. Easterly is a graduate of National University of Health Sciences, where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, summa cum laude. She also has a B.S. in Biology from DePaul University. She is a certified Accupuncturist, Nimmo Triggerpoint therapist, and Kinesio taping therapist. In addition to her role as an instructor, Dr. Easterly functions as the Educational Director for the Human Sciences component of our programs.

Jean Bailey, Education Director-Professional Development
Ms. Bailey uses her extensive background in marketing and advertising to teach students how to reach, attract, and retain clients. Ms. Bailey has had a brilliant career as Director of Marketing services for Helene Curtis Corporation, and previously as a national advertising and promotion supervisor for Hartmarx Corporation, and a Vice-President of an advertising firm.

Rich Kamasinski, Education Director-Massage and Bodywork
Mr. Kamasinski received his massage training through The Soma Institute. With his additional background in psychology, theology, spirituality and planetary herbology, Mr. Kamasinski addresses an individual's needs on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Mr. Kamasinski has expertise in myofascial release, neuromuscular & trigger point therapy, sports massage, craniosacral therapy and somatoemotional release. He has worked in various clinical and non-clinical settings and has also taught partner and infant massage classes.

Tony Zayner, Education Director-Asian Studies
B. Tony Zayner MSEd, BSN, LMT, CH, MSOM lived in China for 12 years where he studied Mandarin, Tai Chi, Chinese Medicine, painting and calligraphy. He was the 1988/89 US National Middleweight Tai Chi champion. He has studied Swedish, Tui Na, Thai massage, Shiatsu, Hodo Taiso,and Okazaki method. Mr. Zayner is a Licensed Massage Therapist, and also has a Master's in Education, a Master's in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicince and is currently enrolled in the National College of Naprapathy.

John Magruder, Lead Massage Instructor
Mr. Magruder is a Licensed Massage Therapist and graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy. He brings to the classroom many years of successful industry experience and an extensive background in massage and bodywork. Mr. Magruder's work includes western massage techniques, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, sports massage, and reiki. He also has advanced training in injury assessment and treatment. Mr. Magruder was a member of the Winter Sports Massage Team at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002, and received a Humanitarian of the Year Award for his volunteer work in 2000 from the American Massage Therapy Association Illinois Chapter. In addition to his role as an instructor, Mr. Magruder maintains his own private practice and sees clients at the School Clinic.

Sara Johnston, Lead Massage Instructor
Sara Johnston is a licensed therapist who graduated from Wellness and Massage Training Institute in Woodridge Illinois. Sara was sociology major at the University of Houston and has an Associates degree in Therapeutic Massage from the College of DuPage. She is continuing her studies of Cranial Sacral Therapy with the Milne Institute based in Big Sur, California. In addition to teaching and her Massage/Bodywork practice, Sara teaches Wellness and Self Massage classes at the Chicago Department on Agings six Senior Centers. She incorporates Prenatal Massage, Jin Shin Do acupressure, Myofacial Release, Somatic Technique, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Reiki in her work.

Adjunct Faculty

Celia Bucci, Curriculum Development and Accreditation Compliance, Instructor
Celia is a Licensed Massage Therapist who graduated from the Soma Institute in Chicago. She is passionate about massage therapy education and has several years experience in curriculum development and instruction. In her private practice, Celia specializes in comprehensive assessment and treatment of neuromuscular conditions. She is currently studying the role of nutrition in the process of healing those conditions, as well as the role massage therapy can play in treating respiratory conditions. Celia also has an MA in Cultural Studies from the University of Iowa and a BA in Communication Studies from DePaul University.

Lucien Caillouet III, Instructor
Lucien Caillouet III, CESMT, CNMT, ATC has a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training - Sports Medicine from North Park University and is a graduate of The Chicago School of Massage Therapy. He is also a Licensed Massage Therapist, AMTA certified Event Sports Massage Therapist, certified Neuromuscular Therapist, and certified Athletic Trainer with over 16 years of massage industry experience. Mr. Caillouet specializes in Rehabilitation Massage Therapy at AthletiCo Physical Therapy, has worked with the United States Women's National Soccer Team and was a member of the Athens International Sports Massage Team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece.

Dr. Robert Smith, Instructor
Dr. Robert Smith is a 1997 graduate of the Wellness and Massage Training Institute. Upon his graduation, he began a successful 7 year practice out of O'Hare airport while studying for his Doctorate at the Chicago National College of Naprapathy. Completing his Doctorate in 2000 he formed Naprapathic Associates LLC, with a classmate, and founded the Center for Natural Therapy in Evanston. Dr. Smith has worked with professional athletes from both the NFL and NBA and tri-athletes at the Iron man Kona and Madison. Dr.Smith has specialized in Neuromuscular body work for 8 years and has studied in both Canada and Thailand.
